Since 1995 ISLAND GYMNASTICS has been providing quality programs with superior gym facilities on the Eastern Shore. We hope this website will help to answer many of the questions you may have, and that you will stop by and visit us if you are in the area. You have to see our gym and speak to our staff to understand why we are considered a top gym in this area. Fall through Spring we are open from 5pm to 8pm Monday through Friday, and Saturdays 9:30 to 1pm. Please email us or call the gym at (410) 643-5752 to get a schedule of currently available classes. We are located at 202 VFW Avenue in Grasonville MD 21638. From route 50 west, exit 44a VFW Avenue. From route 50 east exit 43b Chester river beach and follow the signs to VFW Avenue.
We are sure you will find our 10,000 square foot facility the best in the area. We offer the most current equipment available and the newest teaching techniques to help your child achieve in the gym and increase their confidence. We invite you to stay and view your child form our comfortable waiting room, or to run errands if needed during their class. We have expanded our programs to include Open Gym and Cheer/Tumble classes. Birthday parties are available on weekends and we also offer Sports badges requirements for Scouts. Our Pro shop carries leotards, T-shirts and other gymnastics gear.
We have monthly tuition payments to allow for more flexible enrollment
and to keep the up front fees low. You may change your class schedule at
any time provided there is space available. Our registration fee covers
the whole family for the year, not the session and there are no
additional insurance fees. There is no special outfit to wear or to buy
in the future for performances. Demonstrations are held during the
winter holidays and again when school is finishing up. We have a
competitive team if your child wishes to take on that kind of
commitment, and we will not push any gymnast to join the team that is
not interested in it.
Physically gymnastics develops coordination, improves flexibility, and builds strength. This solid foundation for fitness serves as cross training for cheer-leading, dance, martial arts, swimming, and diving. Some experts believe the greatest benefits of gymnastics are mental. Gymnastics is often given credit for learning to listen and follow directions, building self-esteem and confidence, goal-setting skills, concentration and perseverance.
In addition, with increased coordination, strength, and flexibility gymnasts can improve their quality of life and cut down on injuries in everyday life.
